My baby sister!
Oh my gosh, how is this real life?  Tomorrow is the first day of her senior year of high school.  She has exceeded all of our family’s abilities in probably every way and she’s not even 18 yet!  She is brilliant, she’s a leader, and she loves Jesus and wants others to love and know him too. And she is so driven to meet her goals.  She’s already toured Harvard, Yale, and Brown and they are fools if any of them don’t accept her (in my humble opinion!)
Ever since Ava was in elementary school I have practiced creating portraits with her as my subject.  It’s amazing to see how those photographs have matured as I’ve grown as a photographer and as Ava has grown up!  I loved taking these portraits in celebration of her last year of high school, and I know our family will cherish them for generations!  It gives me goosebumps to think that one day she will show her children, my nieces and nephews, these photographs maybe when they themselves are becoming seniors.  How special is that??  I LOVE MY JOB.
Ava, you are incredible. Â I am so proud of you and I love you to smithereens.
PS. Â You know we couldn’t fully capture the essence of Ava if there weren’t books, cats, hot tea, goddess curls and flowy dresses. 😉
