“Better happens when your personal story is vulnerably shared with others… when knowledge is shared with younger generations… and when purpose is chosen over fear.”
– Jeff Shinabarger, Opening Key Note Speaker
Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing the details and behind the scenes of The National Association of Professional Child Photographers (NAPCP) Retreat – an intimate gathering of creative and successful child photographers.  This year it was held at The Ritz Carlton in Greensboro, GA!  What I found during this four-day event was an incredible amount of encouragement and knowledge from photographers scattered across the US, Canada, and Australia.  I have about 30 pages of notes consisting of tips on marketing, branding, lighting, customer service, goal setting, and more.  This stuff is pure GOLD.
Their branding, as you can see below, is absolutely incredible. Â Similarly, every little detail of the event was thought-through and gorgeous. Â I’ll let the photos speak for themselves!
Thank you to all the leaders of the NAPCP team who put their faith in me to photograph this impeccable event. Â It was such a joy!
When each attendee arrived, a polaroid photo was taken of them and put on The Love Board. Â Throughout the week, everyone was encouraged to write a little note to someone they knew or connected with! Â This is The Love Board at the beginning of the week!
All of the beautiful hand lettering was artfully created by Kristen Smith.
The fearless leader of the event, Crystal James!
So many incredible speakers presented throughout the week.
Behind the scenes of the Valentine’s themed senior styled shoot!

A bunch of us got together on the second night and made shoes out of old jeans for Sole Hope – and organization providing shoes to children in Uganda!
S’mores mix and lemonade fueled everyone!
The progression of The Love Board!
Everyone was gifted with an Organic Bloom frame with their hand lettered name!
One on one mentoring sessions with the speakers!
Dessert reception on the last night, complete with a photo booth, signature drink and overflowing Love Board.
The week was closed with a Marketing Group Discussion lead by Alice Park, and we all left refreshed with attainable goals and plenty of ideas for marketing campaigns of our own.
